Welcome to school, 2007

The new school year started on Tuesday, Sept. 4th. Brady was excited, yet apprehensive, to start 7th grade. He's in a new school that has 7-12th graders. So he went from being the 'Top Dog' in 6th grade at his elementary school to being the 'peon' in the high school. I had warned him that the first day of school would bring mass-confusion of all 7th graders. Remembering 7th grade myself, I knew that very few would make it to their correct classrooms before the bell rang. I also told him not to worry about it, the teachers understand, and by the end of the week he'd be in his desk before the bell rang & wouldn't even need his class schedule to tell him which class to go to next. Guess what? Friday afternoon he came home & told me I was right about all of it. Yep, chalk one up for the old lady!

El, on the other hand, was not interested in the beginning of the school year at all. She would've preferred to stay home, rather than mixing and mingling with her friends again. But, I told her she'd have so much fun seeing her friends again that first day that she'd beg to go back. Guess what? Seems I was right yet again! What's the score now? Oh yeah.....2 for the old lady!!

Here they are on their way down to the bus, first day of 2st grade for Ellie and 7th grade for Brady.
