My New Girl

El needed a haircut. Badly. She's been growing her bangs out the same length as the rest of her hair. It was cute when it was a bit shorter.....but lately her hair has taken on a life of it's own. Not a life to be proud of either. After a bath her hair looks fine but....she's an active 8 year old and her hair proves the point quite well, in all it's scraggly glory, by mid-morning.




Last night I gave my girl 2 choices: 1) we cut her bangs, in hopes that she'd look more presentable or 2) we cut all her hair, bangs included, one length......short. Armed with these choices, and quite reluctant to do either, she jumped in the shower. When a soaking, yet clean, girl emerged she had made her decision. We could cut it all one length. So at 7:50 last night, 10 minutes till bedtime, I grabbed the scissors & went to work. The result was less than perfect; I have no training in cosmetology and well, an 8 year old can be quite antsy when asked to stand for long periods of time.

There's still some fine tuning to be done but, all in all, I think she looks like a whole new girl.
