I lost a day this week, and I really couldn't afford that! My sister's baby shower is Saturday morning and my mom and I are coordinating it. I had a busy week with appointments for Andrew almost every day so I really needed to make the most of my remaining time to figure out and find decorations, plan the meal, make food, etc.
I woke this morning and went about mentally scheduling the days leading up to the baby shower. In a matter of minutes I had it all figured out and was quite proud of myself!
Today: make one pan of bars, boil potatoes & eggs for potato salad and, just for fun, organize the toyroom.
Friday: make a run to Goodwill with unused toyroom stuff, shop for dress shoes and pants for shower, make 2nd pan of bars, finish making potato salad, wrap shower gift.
Saturday morning: help move tables and decorate the Community Center for the shower.
Yep, I thought I had everything figured out. I went about my morning, happy as a clam with my plans. About an hour after I had carefully planned my next few days the ball dropped and I remembered......today was Friday!! Somehow I had lost Thursday! Well, that certainly put an interesting spin on things. I had to scrap my seemingly well-thought-out plans and it became full speed ahead to accomplish 2 days worth of preparations in one day. It seemed a mission impossible. But alas- I AM SUPERMOM (dubbed by some of my dearest friends) and I was really hoping I could live up to their standards and complete my mission.
Naptime came and Michael & Andrew thankfully took wonderful naps while I scrambled to make both pans of bars and bake the potatoes for the potato salad. A shopping trip after Brady & Ellie came home from school yeilded no useable shoes or pants...but atleast I made the effort. Three small children sucessfully tucked into bed and one mom frantically peeling and dicing potatoes and mixing in mayonnaise and mustard. One baby shower gift wrapped and.....mission accomplished!
All that's left is the setting up and decorating in the morning. Not too bad for 2 days worth of work in one, huh?
Phew! Is it my bedtime yet?
