In my last post about our family's future plans I reported that the idea of moving to the Cities and buying our in-law's vending business had been put to rest. Well, since then it's been resurrected. As a matter of fact, Randy has been made Partner in the business. Since shortly before Thanksgiving he's been working the vending business alongside his parents. He's been living at their house Monday through Friday, home with us on weekends. The idea is that he will stay Partner for a few years, doing a Contract-for-Deed-type situation, and officially become owner of the business when the time is right. In other words, when Randy's dad, Ray, won't get socked with huge amounts in taxes upon selling the business. It's all foreign to me, really; but Randy, Ray and their attorney seem to know what they're doing.
Now all that's left in preventing us from moving to the hub-bub of the Twin Cities Metro area is the sale of our house. It's been on the market since last August but a 6 bdrm, 1 bath farmhouse on 11 acres just doesn't seem to be a hot commodity in today's slow real estate market. All in good time.......
